#3 Poh Guan Cake House

This bakery features typical Cantonese bakes to traditional Teochew recipes. One of their most recommended items is their da lao bing, a Teochew-style flaky pastry filled with green or red bean paste, which resembles an oversized tau sar piah. Aside from that, they also are known for their white sesame mooncakes and la gao, a black glutinous rice cake.


#4 The Affogato Lounge

Want a coffee buzz? Look no further and visit The Affogato Lounge, which features a wide variety of desserts. They have the Hazelnette ($16), which is hazelnut ice cream, and 55 percent dark chocolate soaked in a double shot of Ozone Roaster's flagship espresso blend. Aside from that, they can drink coffee made from beans imported from said New Zealand roastery such as the Bittersweet Symphony ($6/$7) or Dirty Chai Latte ($5.50/$6.50).


#5 Chong Qing Grilled Fish

This restaurant is known for its Chong Qing dishes as they were the ones who brought it in the country back when it opened in 2010. One of their most famous dishes starts at $32 and lets one choose from five types of grilled fish and seven punchy broths. Aside from this, they also serve dry pot prawns and hot-plate mutton with cumin. Do take the time to visit at least one of these restaurants during your next visit.
